4Sunshine says gas prices are 2 high. Also says to avoid prepay pumps. Gas prices are lower at a cash only station due to no credit card processing fee incurred by the merchant. Gas prices are slightly higher at prepay pumps to cover the service fee for merchant accounts.

Not sure what "avoid prepay pumps" has to do with the topic "gas prices 2 high" but it seems that 4Sunshine has two message posts, started both of them with the same topic name, and never returned to comment on what people said...or to post gas prices, leaving after only 2 posts/1040 points.

Prices at the pre-pay pumps in this area are the lowest priced gas stations by a significant amount (as much as 20 cents lower per gallon than other nearby stations. Should I be avoiding them because they're the lowest priced stations? Or because I have to prepay in order to save money at the pump?

tammycurdy69: Fine, gas price are high. They may even be too high. But what does "gas prices 2 high" have to do with avoiding prepay pumps?
You wrote: "yes gas prices are two high i remember when gas was about 1.10 or a little more then that but not this high so its really high and when it gets to three dollars or more that stupid"
Are you earning the same salary, and are your relatives, etc., earning the salary as when gas prices were $1.10 a gallon? Are you paying the same for cars that you were when gas was $1.10 a gallon? You don't remember when gas was not this high, but you remember when gas was $1.10 a gallon? Maybe you missed it, but it wasn't that long ago, because of a variety of circumstances and reason, that gas was around or over $4 a gallon; more than 50 percent higher than it is now. That was a little more than "this high".
And, like it or not, if gas goes back to three dollars, I'm not sure why it's stupid. I don't necessarily know what the reasons or international circumstances are that could/would cause prices to rise to that level again, whether it's suppliers wanting to control prices, whether there's international conflict, or any other reason, but until you tell me that the company you work for (or own) is willing to lower it's prices because I and others find the price of your product or service stupid, others have the same right to determine their prices. But until you can tell me what makes the price "stupid", I'll asume you misused the descriptive word.

If the prices are "2 high" more stations go to prepay. Unless they're in Kansas City, the only place I've seen where you either pay at the pump or you prepay.

Awwww. And I had such high hopes that 4Sunshine was going to add a lot of intelligent conversation, points of view, and perspective to the post he, himself, started. And I was so sure that he would be posting multiple gas prices for the Baltimore area daily.
I'm so shocked that he posted and ran... so shocked.

Or he could be planning to pay for all his gas used this year in 2013, when inflation will have lowered the value of the dollar significantly. That would save him some money.

Maybe he plans to steal gas, which of course he couldn't do if he prepaid.

I don't understand the topic. The title is "gas prices 2 high" and the comment is "avoid prepay pumps". Is there supposed to be a relationship between the two issues? While people might think gas prices are too high, what does that have to do with avoiding pre-pay pumps?
